Entries open for chamber’s business awards

This year’s Galway Chamber Business Awards 2011 will take place on October 15.

In association with AIB Bank, the Galway Chamber awards include eight categories with an overall award to be presented at the chamber’s president’s dinner in the Clayton Hotel.

Chamber president Carmel Brennan said the awards were initiated to recognise responsible business practice.

“They promote a better way of doing business by encouraging companies, large and small, to measure, continually improve, and communicate their positive impact on society.

“We will continue to host Galway Chamber business awards as an ongoing event dedicated to excellence and fulfilling Galway Chamber’s mission statement to make Galway the leading location for business, investment and people.”

This year’s award pieces are the work of Andy Keane, Athenry. A GMIT graduate in fine art, Keane specialises in glass and stained glass design. His unique pieces for the Galway Chamber awards are inspired by the Galway maritime tradition.
