ConnQuest Connemara to be launched this weekend

ConnQuest Connemara takes place on September 17 and promises to be a unique event that will take you to some of Connemara's amazing mountain tops. Imagine the views while summiting the north face of Ben Choona (584 metres ) and then traversing three more peaks in the Twelve Bens/Garraun Complex while taking in a test of your skills with some conventional and quirky tasks in the outdoors.

The 10k ConnQuest course sets off from picturesque Lettergesh Beach in Renvyle on a loop with some of the most spectacular scenery Ireland has to offer. It is a fun and challenging event that can be trekked, jogged, or run depending on your fitness level. The course will be marked on the day with marshalls manning the task stations. For thoes aiming to win remember that this will not only be a test of speed, challenges along the way will have either time or distance penalties if not achieved, so concentration could well make the difference on the day. Running parallel will be a conventional mountain trail half marathon which is also the first of its kind in the area. That evening there will be a rip roaring ConnQuest party with free entry for all participants.

The launch party for ConnQuest Connemara is on this Saturday in the Bread Basket Cafe, Letterfrack, where the organisers will be on hand to answer any questions and give more details. You can also go to www.connemararoughdiamond.com for more information and registration.
