THE LEEDS born, Galway based, artist Jeremiah O’Dea is currently exhibiting his works in The Cornstore, Middle Street.

Jeremiah’s works are hand carved marmoleum and prints. He starts by taking a sheet of marmoleum (lino ), then either drawing from the mind staight onto the material or drawing from a sketch. Once the drawing is complete the design is then carved onto the lino and the piece is polished. The polish then becomes as hard as stone to touch and is protected against water, moisture, scratch, fade, scorch marks, or other damage.

Jeremiah’s exhibition is part of the Space Invaders project, where empty units are used to promote and exhibit art in the city.
