Galway storyteller brings Irish stories to the English
By Kernan Andrews
Galway storyteller Clare Muireann Murphy will perform her new show On The Heels Of The Hound in the Unicorn Children’s Theatre in London this month.
Claire enjoyed a sold out performance at the Barbican in October 2009 and her retelling of Irish mythological tales has won over English audiences.
On The Heels Of The Hound runs from Tuesday February 16 to Sunday 22 and features classic Irish stories about Cuchulainn, Fionn MacCumhaill, and the Tuatha de Danaan. The stories are told in a lively physical style and placed in a modern context.
“Irish mythology has been a constant inspiration to me since I began storytelling,” she says. “I am very happy to be infecting the English audiences with my passion for the ancient Irish tales.”
