NUIG sean-nós dance work-shops
The renowned Irish dancer Seosamh Ó Neachtain will give a second series of sean-nós workshops in NUI, Galway next month.
Mr Ó Neachtain will conduct this four week series of dance workshops beginning on Wednesday November 4. The workshops are free of charge and open to the public and will take place in the Aula Maxima at 7pm.
Mr Ó Neachtain is the Sean-nós Dancer-in-Residence at NUIG and one of a handful of performers who have rejuvenated the tradition of sean-nós dancing over the last number of years.
His contribution to the TG4 series Ceolchuairt, which explored the influence of Irish dance on American tap dancing, won the entertainment category in the Celtic Film Festival 2009. He has also performed with Altan, De Danann, and Máirtín O’Connor.
