Shooting begins in Galway on Ken Bruen’s The Guards

Shooting has begun on the TV movie version of The Guards by the internationally acclaimed Galway crime novelist Ken Bruen, with filming taking place in Galway city and Connemara.
This 90-minute film is the first episode in a series of Jack Taylor stories, co-financed by German broadcaster RTL, Richard Price TV Associates in Britain, The Media Fund, and Magma Films, Ireland.
Iain Glen (Kingdom of Heaven, Tomb Raider, Resident Evil) will play the Jack Taylor character and the film will also star Ralph Brown (Alien 3, Life on Mars) as Sutton, as well as Tara Breathnach (The Tudors) and Nora-Jane Noone (The Magdalene Sisters).
