The Indian Cultural and Sports Community (ICSC ) Galway is set to bring the colour, vibrancy and spirit of India to the city with its Diwali Festival of Light 2026, taking place this Saturday, November 7, at Leisureland, Upper Salthill Road, Galway.
The event, which will begin at 5pm, is expected to bring together members of Galway’s Indian community and people from across the wider region for an evening celebrating Indian culture, traditions and community spirit.
Diwali, widely known as the Festival of Lights, is one of the most significant celebrations in Indian culture. The festival symbolises the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness, while representing hope, happiness, new beginnings and togetherness.
Celebrated by millions of people around the world, Diwali is traditionally marked by lighting lamps, sharing festive meals, exchanging greetings and spending time with family and friends.
ICSC Galway aims to make the 2026 celebration an inclusive occasion, offering the wider Galway community an opportunity to experience and appreciate the richness and diversity of Indian heritage. The evening will feature music, dance, cultural performances, festive celebrations and Indian cuisine, creating an atmosphere of colour, entertainment and cultural exchange.
