Fleetwood is celebrating the first anniversary of Prestige by Fleetwood, its most refined premium paint range to date. Loved by many nationwide, Fleetwood has released the trends and colours that Irish homeowners chose from the extensive range for their home renovations and paint projects this past year.
While national trends provide a picture of Ireland's overall colour preferences, the first year of Prestige also reveals interesting regional differences.
In Connacht, warm neutrals emerged as the clear favourite, with shades from the Coco family dominating the rankings and pointing to a preference for warm, comforting tones in the home.
Leinster shows a broadly balanced palette, with familiar, versatile colours coming out on top and a mix of lighter and mid-tone shades appearing consistently. Dublin’s colour palette focuses on softer and lighter neutrals, with Coco Mid leading and Hoban White and Coco Pale also prominent, creating a calm and understated overall feel.
Homeowners in Ulster are embracing a moodier palette, with deeper shades including Coco Dark and Chalking Deep featuring strongly alongside the national favourite. The results suggest a greater appetite for richer, more dramatic colour choices across the region.
Meanwhile, Munster emerged as the most nature inspired of the regions, with greens and greys featuring more prominently. Atelier White took the top spot, complemented by earthy shades including Burnt Sage and Mercer Grey, creating a palette that pairs soft neutrals with more organic tones.
Looking back on the success in this first year, results show how Irish homeowners chose warm, welcoming colour, with tonal decorating, softened whites and selective confidence with deeper shades. Prestige was created to bring together liveable colour, an elegant finish and the durability and performance needed for everyday homes. Featuring 120 colours and three innovative paint finishes, giving homeowners flexibility across different rooms, surfaces and projects.
Karena Hyland, research and development manager at Fleetwood, spoke about the colour choices and trends that stood out to her. “The first year of Prestige has been such a huge success, we were completely blown away by the response from day one," she said. "Looking back on the year, we’ve noticed some colour trends we’ve loved and some we could never have predicted. We’ve definitely seen the end of the cold white era, with demand for colour in the home and more personality amongst white shades.
"As well as this, the overall national palette is tonal rather than uniform and the Coco tones sit at the top of the list of favourites amongst Irish homeowners, some of my personal favourites too," she added. "Prestige has been developed to give homeowners greater choice when creating spaces that feel both beautiful and built to last, something we are really proud to have successfully achieved and seen in results over the past year.”
One year on, the Prestige by Fleetwood story is as much about how Irish homeowners are using colour as it is about the range itself. Research reveals a palette that is warm, layered and individual, with Irish homeowners balancing dependable neutrals with softer whites and nature-inspired shades.
The first year of the range marks an important milestone for Fleetwood, showcasing its commitment to combining its expertise in paint technology, colour and performance with evolving trends and the tastes of modern homeowners. It’s an opportunity to celebrate not only the range's development, but the homeowners, designers and decorators who have brought its 120 colours to life.
