Galway City Karting is one of the top activities in Galway. The track, located in Liosban Industrial Estate, provides adrenaline-fuelled fun to everyone aged seven and up.
The track opens from 1:00pm on weekdays and from 10:00am on Saturday and Sunday. Galway City Karting has karts for all ages from seven years and upwards.
All of the karts are powered by Honda engines, with 160cc junior karts and 200cc adult karts. You can also now enjoy the two-seater kart, perfect for younger passengers. The driver must be over 18 years old, and the passenger must be at least 4 years old.
If you want to practise your racing skills and set the fastest lap, the 20-minute or 40-minute arrive-and-drive options are ideal.
Grand Prix experience
Get ready for an adrenaline-fueled Grand Prix event, designed for groups of nine to over 30 drivers. Whether you’re racing with friends, colleagues, or rivals, this is your chance to experience the thrill of real competition.
Race format
First up is the qualification round, where each driver gets one chance to set their fastest lap and secure their position.
Then, in the semi-finals, multiple races are held based on group size. The fastest drivers qualify for final A, while others compete in additional finals for placement.
Lastly come the finals in which only drivers in final A can compete for the ultimate victory and claim the Grand Prix title.
Podium celebration
The top three drivers take their place on the podium, and the champion is awarded a bottle of bubbly to celebrate in style!
Timing is everything; your lap will be professionally timed by the Apex Timing System, the leader in go-kart timing systems.
The track designers at Galway City Karting have spent years testing and shaping the course so you can maximise the thrill of this challenging 300-meter indoor track.
