The Galway City Council is inviting submissions from professional, experienced, operators to design and deliver a new family?friendly Christmas experience at Fr Burke Park as part of the council’s Christmas in Galway Programme.
This initiative aims to create a distinctive, walk?through festive experience unique to Galway. The programme will combine creative lighting, seasonal installations, performances, music, and a carefully curated concessions offer, including hot drinks and seasonal treats. All concessions must be family?oriented and alcohol?free.
A new Christmas experience for Galway
The council’s ambition is to animate Fr Burke Park during the winter season through an immersive, high?quality experience that is safe, welcoming, and accessible for all ages.
Programming should operate daily, ending no later than 10:00pm, with careful management of sound levels, audience flow, and egress to ensure the comfort and amenity of residents in the surrounding neighbourhood.
Who should apply
This Expression of Interest (EOI ) is open to established operators with a proven track record in premium outdoor seasonal activations, including work delivered in public parks, city plazas, heritage or historic environments, and large?scale outdoor cultural installations.
Applicants must demonstrate capability in concept design, creative production and installation, on?site operations and staffing, safety and risk management, and de?rig and restoration of the site.
