Galway United Women host Wexford FC this Saturday as they look to continue their perfect start to the Premier Division campaign.

Sitting pretty at the top of the table, Phil Trill's side are the only team to have won their first two fixtures. Last Saturday's 2-1 derby victory over Sligo Rovers ensured the Tribeswomen's perfect start.

United's summer business sent a statement to the rest of the division as to what their aspirations are. So far, the results have affirmed those goals.

Yet, despite the new recruits, it is familiar names making the difference for United in the early games. Isabella Beletic got the winner over DLR Waves on the opening weekend. Ceola Bergin showed unyielding composure to convert the two penalties that secured all three points at Eamonn Deacy Park last weekend.

They face a Wexford side still in search of their first win of the campaign. A scoreless draw to Waterford in their first game would have frustrated them, but last Saturday's 1-1 draw with Shelbourne is cause for encouragement. United will be weary of Megan Smyth Lynch and Ciara Rossiter's talents. They need no reminder of ex-United 'keeper Maria Ó Sullivan's ability.

There is plenty to suggest this United team are ready to take that next step. This weekend's game offers the opportunity to lay down a marker.

Kick-off at Eamonn Deacy Park this Saturday is 5pm.
