John Muldoon - Ireland caps 3, Connacht appearances 327, Connacht Line Out and Maul Coach
There is nothing like the air of excitement that surrounds a European game under lights.
For so long I watched on with envy. Watching big performance after big performance by teams dressed in red, blue and white. Dreaming that some day our green jersey would have the same experience.
Connacht finally got their day in London 2011 vs Harlequins. It was one of the most memorable days of my life, followed by the return fixture in the sportsground in January after a 14-game long losing streak winning 9-8.
Wasps at home in 2016, will also be remembered for when I hoodwinked the stand-in referee Mathau Reynal into thinking we were allowed to kick to touch even though I knew the rule didn’t come in for another two weeks.
Toulouse in 2016 will always be in my top moments in the sportsground. The atmosphere, the rugby we played that day was some of the best rugby I’ve ever been involved in and the occasions still resonates with me to this day when I take a moment. Let’s hope we see lots of these memories in the new home of connacht rugby.
