These are encouraging times for Galway United as John Caulfield's charges chalked up a 10th SSE Airtricity League first division win in 13 games at St Colman's Park.

A dominant opening period display, featuring three goals from the vibrant visitors, ensured Cobh Ramblers were in significant bother.

Max Hemmings drilled his second goal of the campaign to steer United ahead in the 20th minute.

Ed McCarthy, sharp on the left, added a second on 33 as United continued to dictate the agenda.

In first half stoppage time McCarthy rifled another goal for United, who were prompted by Conor McCormack and David Hurley.

After the restart Cobh improved significantly, but substitutes Francely Lomboto and Manu Dimas combined in the closing stages to seal the deal.

Lomboto's pass located Dimas, who decorated United's triumph with a gorgeous goal.
