Council calls for ratification of The Convention against Trafficking in Human Organs

The Galway City Council will call on the Government to ratify The Convention against Trafficking in Human Organs.

The Convention was adopted by the Council of Europe on July 9 2014 in order to criminalise illegal organ transportations.

The Government has already signed this convention but has yet to ratify it.

The motion which was proposed by Cllr Colette Connolly was passed on Monday evening at City Hall.
