Fiddlers Green set to bring the craic agus ceol to Mullingar

Ireland’s Fiddlers Green are presenting an evening of folk songs and music at the Mullingar Arts Centre on Saturday September 7 to coincide with the release of Danny Carthy’s environmental song ‘Stand Look Around You’ which he wrote, recorded, and has donated to the Irish Wildlife Trust.

Also Ireland’s Fiddlers Green single ‘Slip Away’ has been released to Irish radio and TV stations nationwide for general airplay.

The song was introduced to lead singer Danny Carthy by radio presenter Derek Davis, and the recording produced by Charlie McGettigan. The performance at Mullingar Arts Centre is a chance to present a live concert of the recordings and also to introduce their vast repertoire of folk songs.

“The Irish Wildlife Trust is totally dependent on donations and therefore it is my privilege to offer my song to their online shop and hopefully assist in raising much needed funds for their important work. I would also like to think it will help bring greater awareness of the Irish folk song writing culture,” says Danny Carthy.

Ireland’s Fiddlers Green are first and foremost professional Irish singers and musicians with a very strong love for the musical folklore that has been handed down through generations. Their vocal and musical presentation both in recordings and live performances demonstrates their ability to provide the best Irish entertainment for both Irish and foreign audiences.

The song ‘Stand Look Around You’ is now available on the Irish Wildlife Trusts website at iwt.ie for €1 and all proceeds will go to the Irish Wildlife Trust.
