Tesco Kinnegad supporting the local community

Westmeath player Maud Annie Foley and Tesco community champion Jacinta Nurney are asking people to pledge their Tesco for Schools and Clubs vouchers to Kinnegad’s local ladies GAA Club for some much needed sports equipment. Customers can donate their unwanted vouchers in the Kinnegad store. Vouchers can also be donated to any participating pre-school or school in the local area who are participating in the scheme.

The Tesco for Schools and Clubs voucher collection scheme is running from now until May 8, and has given away over 400,000 pieces of equipment worth €16 million to Irish schools and clubs over the past 13 years. Last year alone, over €850,000 worth of school equipment and sports kit was delivered to schools and clubs around the country.

Jacinta’s role as community champion involves working directly with local organisation such as schools, clubs, charities, and community groups on projects such as green schools, bag packs, local fundraising events, local recycling events, and WEEE days. She also facilitates community groups by giving them access to the store’s facilities such as the car park and the foyer.

Customers will receive one Tesco for Schools and Clubs voucher for every €10 participating spend in stores during this period. For more information on Tesco for Schools and Clubs log on to tesco.ie
