White’s Jewellers green display bags St Patrick's Day Chamber award

The competition to green up the town for St Patrick’s Day was won by White, Ronnie White to be precise!

“It was a difficult choice for the judging panel but the lovely window in White’s Jewellers was by far our favourite. We had to chose from large window displays like Fagan’s Toymaster, which was filled with cheeky leprechauns and wonderfully decorated windows like Oscars, painted with rainbows and little people. But Ronnie White’s window was simply charming and elegant. He had St Patrick in there, a snake, an old book about Irish history and heritage but what was the winning element was the live shamrock planted into bog oak, - all the judges agreed it was a beautiful addition,” said Pat Whelan, Mullingar Chamber president.

The shop window competition was organised by the Mullingar Chamber of Commerce as part of their work to create a wonderful streetscape for the St Patrick’s Day celebrations.

“We put a call out to the retailers and businesses in the town to fill your shop fronts with shamrocks and leprechauns and all things Irish for the Mullingar Chamber of Commerce St Patrick’s Day window competition. It was brilliant to see the response, every single window in the town of Mullingar had some element that tied it into St Patrick’s Day,” said Pat.
