High alcohol level brings lengthy disqualification

An extremely high alcohol reading has resulted in a Mullingar man being put off the road for three years.

Krzysztof Zimolag (49 ) of Grand Parade, Mullingar had 107mg alcohol/100ml breath when he was stopped at Grange South on December 13.

This is several times the legal breath alcohol limit but Zimolag, who has limited English said he had not drunk much on the day.

But he accepted he was before the court because he had been driving with too much to drink and that he would lose his licence.

Zimolag, who works in a local business park, was fined €250 and put off the road for the minimum mandatory three years.
