One man was seriously injured and another treated for shock following a single vehicle road traffic accident at Ballinalack village on Tuesday this week.
The men were injured when the van in which they were travelling crashed into a wall just outside Ballinalack on the main Dublin to Sligo road, at approximately 3.45am on Tuesday morning.
Both men were taken to the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar, where the driver was treated for shock. However the passenger, who it is believed was thrown from the vehicle on impact, was later transferred to St James’s Hospital in Dublin, where he was admitted to intensive care and his condition described as “serious”.
