Dacia used this year’s Geneva International Motor Show in Switzerland to unveil the all-new Dacia Spring, which will be available in right-hand drive for the first time.
It features an all-new exterior and interior design, and at 984kg, Dacia says it’s Europe’s only fully-electric car to weigh less than a tonne.
Despite being compact, it’s still said to boast the best loading capacity in its segment and many clever features.
The new Spring offers a customisable digital dashboard featuring a seven-inch screen and a 10-inch multimedia central screen.
A 45hp/33kw motor is available on the ‘Essential’ and ‘Expression’ trims, and 65hp/48kW on the ‘Expression’ and ‘Extreme’ trims.
This new model is powered by a 26.8 kWh battery with a claimed range of 220km for all versions (pending WLTP certification ).
According to Dacia, the Spring is equipped as standard with a 7kW AC charger that can charge the battery from 20 to 100 percent on a domestic outlet in less than 11 hours, or in just four hours on a 7kW wall box.
An optional 30 kW DC charger is available for fast charging from 20 to 80 per cent in 45 minutes.
In Ireland, orders for the new Dacia Spring will open this spring, with a market launch scheduled for summer. Pricing should be confirmed in March.
