Screenway to host Ireland's largest media and publishing event in Galway

What has been described as the biggest media and publishing technology event ever to be held in the west will be held in Galway early next month.
DesignX 2009 to be held on March 5 in Glenlo Abbey Hotel will be a mecca for those in the print,media and publishing industries as it will involve free seminars and in depth demonstrations on Quark Xpress 8, Adobe CS4, Extensis Portfolio, Apple PDF workflows, and Epson Photo Printers,
Anyone who is interested is asked to register now as places are limited. The event will be addressed by Screenway MD Maureen Casey and by Gavin Drake, marketing director of Quark who will talk about the new QuarkXpress 8. With an intuitive new interface, easy Flash authoring, stunning new typographic features, native Illustrator® file import and much more besides, the multi-award winning QuarkXPress 8 is the version of QuarkXPress that the industry has always wanted. The Pfeiffer Report says that it is up to three times faster than previous releases. Attendees will discover the next evolution in page layout.
A demonstration by Chris Stevens, sales engineer, Extensis, will show its latest Font and Digital Asset Management solutions. Learn how to effectively manage your fonts and digital assets without disrupting your workflow with Extensis award-winning software.
Anton Nelson, business development, design and publishing, Apple UK & Ireland will be presenting an Apple technology update on the developments from the hardware manufacturer that have made it the platform that underlies the entire design and publishing industry. Of key focus will be the current trends and shifts in areas such as image capture, PDF workflow, file standardization and data fidelity (including colour management).
Jonathan Ferman, Business Development Manager, Adobe will discuss its Creative Suite 4
