The Revellions to bring their sixties sound to Bar903

THE REVELLIONS are inspired by 1960s rock and make garage rock that sounds fresh and original. What’s more they are coming to Galway this weekend.

Dublin’s The Revellions will play Substance in Bar 903, Eyre Square, this Sunday at 11pm.

The band began in 2006 as a surf instrumental band, but following a line-up change they became a 1960s influenced garage band.

The band - James Lister (guitar/vocals ), Ali Moore (vocals ), Thomas D’Arcy (organ/vocals ), Gareth Jenkins (bass/vocals ), and Mick Smith (drums ) - have impeccable taste in music as their influences include Chocolate Watch Band, The Seeds, Dick Dale, The Zombies, The Animals, Captain Beefheart, The Yardbirds, The Kinks, The Easybeats, and The Doors.

They recorded their debut album in Cirrco Perrotti studios in Spain and their eponymous debut was given the thumbs up by Hotpress.

“While we’ve all heard the three-chord buzzsaw riffs and swirling organs before, the band achieve the unthinkable by making it all seem fresh and new,” the review read.

So in Bar903 on Sunday expect pounding rhythms, a swirling organ player, machine gun riffs, and raw and soulful vocals.

Disconnect Keith will be DJing after The Revellions gig. For more information contact Bar903 on 091 - 565991. See also www.myspace.com/therevellions
