Gerry Quigley.

GERRY QUIGLEY has earned the reputation of being Ireland's "unknown" guitar legend, but his upcoming show at Monroe's Live will leave audiences in no doubt about his prowess on the instrument.

Quigley, and his band The Shinkickers, will play classic rock, blues, originals, and Rory Gallagher covers. His style draws on Rory Gallagher, Gary Moore, and original Thin Lizzy guitarist Eric Bell, who actually gave the teenage Gerry a few lessons. He also plays a unique instrument - the double-neck mandola/bouzouki. Gerry is a former member of hIrish heavy rockers Raw Deal. In 1982 Gerry he went to Australia, playing and recording with bands there for the next 30 years.

Gerry Quigley & The Shinkickers perform in Monroe’s Live Backstage Bar on Thursday November 26. Admission is free.
