Julie Feeney - awards and nominations

ATHENRY VOCALIST/composer Julie Feeney has seen 2013 get off to a great start with her latest album Clocks being nominated for and winning prestigious Irish awards.

Clocks, released late last year to critical and commercial success, has been nominated for The Meteor Choice Music Prize for Irish Album of the Year 2012. Julie won the inaugural Choice prize in 2005 for her debut 13 Songs.

Julie is one of 10 artists shortlisted for the prize. The others are Wallis Bird, The Cast of Cheers, Adrian Crowley (who boasts strong Galway connections ), Delorentos, Damien Dempsey, Heathers, Mumblin Deaf Ro, Two Door Cinema Club, and Windings.

The winner will be announced at the Meteor Choice Music Prize Live Event at Vicar Street, Dublin on Thursday, March 7.

Meanwhile Clocks won ‘Best Album’ in The Irish Times’ Ticket Awards 2012 as voted by the papers readers and received an IMRO an award for reaching Number One in the Independent Album Charts in Ireland.
