Creative writing classes with Fred Johnston

THE AUTHOR, poet, critic, and songwriter Fred Johnston will hold a creative writing class in NUI Galway in October and bookings are being taken now.

The classes will take place from 7.30pm to 9.30pm in Room MY 124 in the university. The course will deal with poetry and prose, with an emphasis on studying the structures and formations of poetry and on reading material in both prose and poetry.

Fred Johnston was born in Belfast and has won awards for his work including the Prix de l'Ambassade and the Hennessy Literary Award. He is founder/director of the Western Writers’ Centre, the Cúirt festival, and the annual Forge at Gort Literature Festival. His most recent publication is a second collection of stories, Dancing In The Asylum.
