David Kitt’s Small Moments tour

IN 2000 a Dublin singer-songwriter called David Kitt released his debut album Small Moments which won praise in Ireland and Britain for its mixture of gentle folk-pop and indie/electro.

Now David is returning to his debut album and will perform it in its entirety as part of his upcoming nationwide tour. The tour includes a date in the Town Hall Theatre on Tuesday July 3 at 8pm.

In 1999 with several record companies looking to sign him, Kitt insisted that a series of home recordings would be his first release. Kitt handed a CD-R of the recordings to Rough Trade boss Geoff Travis, who signed The Smiths, The Strokes, and Pulp, at SXSW and the next morning received a call to say he should not change a note. The first release was done and dusted.

Small Moments received rave reviews throughout the British, Irish and European music press and won admirers including Arab Strap, Tindersticks, The Magic Numbers, and Bob Harris.

“Around the time of The Big Romance 10th anniversary gig last year a lot of people expressed interest in hearing Small Moments in its entirety,” said David recently. “Small Moments lends itself to a sparser rendering. It felt like a good thing for myself and my brother Robbie to do at this point.”
