Paul Murray - Skippy Dies author for Cúirt

The novel, which came out early least year has gained a huge amount of attention for it’s author, 35-year-old Dubliner Paul Murray, and catapulted him into the spotlight as an exciting new voice in Irish fiction.
Galway will have a chance to see and meet the author when he reads, alongside Dermot Healy, as part of the Cúirt International Festival of Literature in the Town Hall Theatre on Tuesday April 14 at 8.30pm.
A former bookseller, Mr Murray was educated at Trinity College Dublin and took a master’s degree in creative writing at the University of East Anglia. His novel An Evening of Long Goodbyes was shortlisted for the Whitbread Prize for First Novel and nominated for The Kerry Irish Fiction Award. His second novel, Skippy Dies, was longlisted for the 2010 Man Booker Prize and was shortlisted for the Costa Novel Award, the Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize, and the National Book Critic Circle’s Prize in the USA.
