NUIG Society’s Music Week

NUI, GALWAY’S student societies will celebrate the newly refurbished student centre Áras na Mac Léinn by hosting the first Soc’s Music Week from Monday to Thursday of next week.
The wide spectrum of events from all musical genres includes performances, concerts, dance, and workshops with guest musicians and home-grown talent.
The week will be launched with an international food fair and live bands in the newly refurbished Bailey Allen Hall from 5pm on Monday 16.
On the same day there will be a concert from the NUIG Orchestra and the Traditional Society and Choral Society. Sell your wares at the campus bazaar on Wednesday 17 and pick up the latest music posters at the poster sale.
On Thursday November 19, the annual Socs in the City fashion show and a charity busking day in aid of the Western Alzheimer’s Association (Thursday) showcasing the many talented musicians will take place across campus. Other events include a concert from Ancient Music Ireland, the NUIG’s Got Talent final, and the screening of classic musicals by the Film Society.
