Gaelic doom metal abú

MAEL MÓRDHA, the creators of Gaelic doom metal, a style of music that mixes heavy metal with Irish trad, will play Deeper at The Cellar on Eglinton Street this Sunday.
The band formed in 1998 and following numerous personel changes, they are now a rising force in the Irish metal scene. With vocals and lyrics taking inspiration from Irish laments and a crushingly heavy riffs, this band are a unique act.
Mael Mórdha have released two albums - Cluain Tarbh (2005), Gealtacht Mael Mórdha (2007) - and have completed recording and mixing their third full-length album, Manannán, which is due for release early 2010.
Support is from Limerick progressive metal band Shardborne and local power metal band Crystal Snowstorm. Doors are at 8.30pm. Admission is €8.
