For the first time in the award’s 63-year history, every car shortlisted for the European Car of the Year 2027 title is fully-electric.
The seven finalists are: the BMW iX3, Cupra Raval, Hyundai Ioniq 3, Kia EV2, Renault Twingo, Volkswagen ID.Polo and Volvo EX60.
Last year’s award was won by the Mercedes-Benz CLA, sold in petrol and electric guises.
The 2027 award will be announced and presented on January 8, 2027 at the Brussels Motor Show.
