It’s not just about the laughter.
Galway Comedy Festival wants to get children and families dancing, exercising, and having their imaginations fired and delighted by experimental comedy.
The next generation of comedy fans are always catered for at each festival and #GCF26 has three wonderfully fun events specially for children and families: Silent Disco, Laughter Yoga, and Spencer Jones’ Experimental Kids Show.
The 2026 Galway Comedy Festival is partnering with Gaillimh Ah-Boo! for two family-friendly events in the programme. Louise Burchall hosts Laughter Yoga classes for families - a new departure for the festival. A genuinely interactive and contagious group activity, this is a Yoga class that promises to be silly, social, and totally ridiculous, while also being great for your physical and mental health.
Endorsed by endorphins, everywhere, Laughter Yoga is on Sunday, October 25, in Massimo (12pm - 1pm, Kids and Parents; 1.30pm-2.30pm for over 16s ).
The highlight of kids shows at #GCF26 will be Spencer Jones’ Experimental Kids Show (Pálás, Sunday, October 25, at 11.30am ). Spencer’s madcap, wild, weird, and wonderful comedic mind will deliver an hour of no-story, visual comedy. Children can expect daft music, surreal props, and bonkers energy. There will be clowning, stories, puppets, nonsense, and unpredictable mayhem. Kids may love it, adults will laugh just as hard.
Halloween Silent Disco for Kids at Róisín Dubh (Saturday, October 31, 12pm-2.30pm ) is a fancy dress chance to dance. Children are encouraged to don their Hallowe’en costumes - or whatever kind of costume takes their fancy, and sing along and switch between DJs playing favourite songs. Free admission for parents and guardians.
