Nissan buyers must move fast to secure savings on scrappage

Electric vehicles buyers can save up to €12,500 on the cost of a new Nissan Ariya if they cash in on the new 'ICE2EV' scrappage scheme.

The new government scheme opens for applications on July 1 and operates on a first come, first serve basis for a limited period. Drivers with petrol or diesel cars registered in 2013 or earlier automatically qualify for the new scrappage scheme.

Fast movers will receive €5,000 scrappage and a grant of €3,500 towards the cost of buying a new EV. The total of €8,500 can be combined with Nissan’s current ‘€4k Your Way’ offer to knock €12,500 off the cost of buying a new Ariya. Buyers can also use the grant across the entire Nissan EV range, including the newly launched Micra which is available from €20,995 as part of the scrappage scheme.

Nissan dealers are also taking pre-orders and booking test drives for the new Leaf, which is available from just €29,995 as part of the new EV scrappage scheme.
