Reimagining Ó Conaire at the Taibhdhearc

Cuireann An Taibhdhearc agus Brú Theatre Neill | Páidín i láthair. Spreagtha ag dhá shaothar as an mbailiúchán ceannródaíoch scéalta, Scothscéalta de chuid Phádraic Uí Chonaire, cuirtear beocht sna carachtair Neill agus Páidín Mháire trí chumasc de bhuncheol agus ensemble taibhithe.

An Taibhdhearc and Brú Theatre have announced their new co-production, Neill | Páidín, premiering in Galway as part of Galway Theatre Festival at An Taibhdhearc from Friday, May 1 for three nights, and again for four nights from Thursday, May 7.

Inspired by the writings of Galway’s Pádraic Ó Conaire, Neill | Páidín reimagines two of Ó Conaire’s works in a new theatrical production. The ensemble cast includes Raymond Keane, Caitríona Ní Mhurchú, Maeve McGrath and Eoin Ó Dubhghaill, directed by James Riordan with live music score by Anna Mullarkey.

Tugtar cuireadh don lucht féachana dul isteach i gcroí agus in intinn bheirt de na carachtair is spéisiúla de chuid Uí Chonaire i gceiliúradh ar íomhánna beoga agus teanga álainn de chuid duine de na scríbhneoirí is mó a bhfuil gean orthu i nGaillimh.

Audiences are invited into the hearts and minds of two of Ó Conaire's most compelling characters as love, revenge, regret and memory weave together in these two interlinked pieces performed in Irish with subtitles.
