Rafter will be special guest at Draíocht – The Alchemy of Music on Thursday, May 7, at Saint Nicholas’ Collegiate Church.

At the heart of these opening concerts lies Vivaldi’s iconic The Four Seasons — a virtuosic masterpiece reimagined in Luminosa’s vibrant, expressive style.

Under Rafter’s dynamic direction, Galway’s first professional orchestra invites audiences to experience this beloved work as never before: fresh, fiery, and full of dazzling colour.

The fireworks continue with Camille Saint-Saëns’ Introduction et Rondo Capriccioso — a dazzling showpiece of flair, virtuosity and irresistible rhythmic fire.

Closing the concert is Edward Elgar’s Serenade for Strings, one of the most cherished works in the English repertoire — warm, noble and deeply lyrical.

Draíocht, the Irish word for ‘magic’ captures the essence of this collaboration — where musicians, audience, and music merge in a shared moment of transformation.

Luminosa will perform at Kilkenny’s Marble City Music Festival on May 8.

Tickets from €20.50. See www.luminosa.ie/concerts
