Circus Gerbola includes Ireland's only flying trapeze

Circus Gerbola will be setting up in Galway this week for its 25th summer on the trot, but this year at a new location.

The circus will be open daily to families, Wednesday to Sunday, until Sunday, August 24, at Galway Racecourse (Eircode H91FW1H ).

On Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays there will be shows at 3pm and 7pm. On Saturdays and Sundays, showtimes are at 1.30pm and 4.30pm.

Featuring an international selection of circus stars the show promises to be a highlight for all ages this summer. Hailing from South America, the incredible Flying Lunas will perform on the flying trapeze. These are the only flying trapeze act in Ireland today, according to organisers.

Also featured are the death defying Cordoba Brothers who race around at 50kmph on their motorbikes inside the aptly named Globe of Death. This really is one for the thrill-seekers.
