Athlone Musical Society to perform My Fair Lady

Preparations are underway for The Athlone Musical Society’s up-coming production of My Fair Lady, which will be playing in the Dean Crowe Theatre from March 7 to 14.

This year’s show is a much more traditional affair than recent years.

The classic musical, not performed by the Society since 1983, is directed by Pat Dwyer who, it is promised, will offer a fresh and new approach to the production.

After a record-breaking turn-out for auditions last autumn, the Society expects My Fair Lady to be warmly welcomed by audiences.

“There has been huge interest in this show from the beginning,” said chairperson, Ursula Daly. This year’s show features an experienced cast including Kieran Kilduff, the star of last year’s Sweeny Todd, as the romantic Freddy Eynsford-Hill.

The cast and crew hope that audiences will find this light hearted musical uplifting and are encouraging the public to come along and support the production.

The Society, now in its 106th year, is also inviting sponsorship from patrons new and old. Those interested should contact Ursula on (086 ) 8585643

Tickets are €20 for adults, €10 concessions are available from Sunday to Tuesday. For bookings contact the Dean Crowe box office on (090 ) 6492129.
