St Loman’s victorious as Heslin stars

John Heslin was the star of the show as St Loman’s outwitted rivals Mullingar Shamrocks by 2-8 to 0-7.

Tight and tense initially, Loman’s eventually edged ahead with Heslin landing critical blows.

At the end of a hard fought first half Loman’s and Shamrocks were deadlocked, 1-1 to 0-4.

Denis Corroon and Ciaran Curley contributed points as Shamrocks hit the front, but Loman’s replied.

Ken Casey and Heslin struck vital points before Loman’s grabbed a second goal which ensured they will join Castledaly in the decider.

The influential Heslin rattled the Shamrocks net when scoring from a rebound following a penalty and Shamrocks couldn’t recover.
