Westmeath minor hurlers impress

Inspired by the promising Doyle twins, Westmeath strolled to an emphatic 5-19 to 0-4 Leinster Minor Hurling Championship success over Wicklow at the Ballinakill Centre of Excellence.

Between them the Doyles, Killian and Ciaran, contributed 3-13 of Westmeath’s total as Wicklow were blitzed.

Paddy Doody was another key figure for the victors, bagging two opportunistic goals during the clash.

Wicklow only managed to register a single point in the first half as Westmeath led 2-13 to 0-1 at the break.

It was a similar story after the interval as Westmeath’s win was as easy as the scoreline suggests.
