The spring league for juniors continued on Monday night at Athlone Tennis Club with a shortened program due to the holiday.
After the atrocious weather of the previous week, the games that went ahead produced some quality tennis in fabulous conditions with good wins for Conor Rice, Shane Egan, Anna McGann, Aoife Raleigh, and Matthew Conway.
Match of the Week this week was a great contest between Gertie O'Rourke and Sophie Jacob that featured high class tennis from both players and went down to the wire, ending 9-7 in the tie-break. These young girls just don't give up! Athlone Tennis Club is half way through the group stage now and there is very little between the four teams. The league will resume at the same time next week for all players.
