The Fulacht Fia Chairde Ghaillimh le Gaeilge took place in Builín Blasta in Ceardlann an Spidéil last week. It was the Fulacht Fia’s first time to move outside of Galway city and it was a great success. During the event, Cairde Gaillimh le Gaeilge enjoyed strolling among the beautiful craft shops in the Ceardlann. The wonderful Emer Killian and her fantastic team served delicious food, (all as Gaeilge) the guests were entertained with excellent music by Mike Stewart and Maria Fahy.

TG4 children’s ambassador to launch book on trailblazing Mountbellew vet

Niamh Ní Chróinín, TG4’s newly appointed ambassador for children and presenter of the dedicated children’s channel Cula4 and Cllr Michael Maher, Cathaoirleach of the County of Galway will launch a bilingual workbook on Aleen Cust; the first female veterinary surgeon to work in Ireland, or indeed the world, in 1900. The book launch will take place at Mountbellew Agricultural College ATU Campus (H53WE00), on April 21 at 11am.

The new civil war exhibition, ‘War of Friends, 1922-23: The Civil War story of Pádraic Ó Máille and Liam Mellows’ is now running at Galway City Museum. The exhibition was officially launched by the Mayor of the City of Galway, Cllr. Clodagh Higgins. It was created by Galway City Museum as part of Galway City Council’s Decade of Centenaries Programme 2022, and funded by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media to commemorate events of local and national significance.
