Over the past number of months, many people have been wondering what exactly has been happening adjacent to Lough Lannagh Holiday Village, with sights of heavy machinery taking away mounds and mounds of earth. The big hill, which once graced the area there, is no longer to be seen, but in its place the brand new Connacht Regional Tennis Centre is being constructed. This is just phase One of a multi million-euro project for Castlebar Tennis Club. Castlebar firm of David O’Malley and Associates has designed the complete project.

Local ace represents Ireland in nations event

Tennis - Kilkenny member Eoin McGovern, (son of Rory and Mary McGovern), was involved in a home nations tournament that took place in the tennis arena in Roehampton, England last weekend. 16 players travelled in the team to represent Ireland in the home nation’s tournament. Age groups represented were under 12, 14, 18 and senior.

Tennis star to share her skills with Carlow juniors

Carlow Lawn Tennis Club have an exciting new coaching programme in place for this autumn and winter. The programme will be spearheaded by the arrival of Tennis Ireland level 1 coach Ashley Wynne. Ashley has a fantastic junior playing pedigree having won national titles at U14s, U16s and U18s and has represented Ireland at junior level on numerous occasions.
