NUI Galway has launched a unique dual Medicine-Engineering, or Physicianeer, programme. The new dual programme will allow students to pursue a specialised Engineering stream in their Undergraduate Medical degree programme, awarding the student with both a Medical and Biomedical Engineering degree (MB, BCh, BAO, BE) upon completion.

BioExel Medtech accelerator programme at NUI Galway announces first round of winners

BioExel Medtech Accelerator is the first of its kind in Ireland to focus solely on the medical technology sector. The six companies, which are all in the scale-up phase, will be based at NUI Galway for a period of six months, to build and commercially validate their technologies by working with existing entrepreneurial networks, mentors and management team.

NUI Galway and IT Sligo, in collaboration with ulearning Skillnet, have announced a new programme designed to address the skills shortages in the medtech sector in the areas of quality and regulatory affairs. The NFQ Level 8 certificate in medical technology regulatory affairs and quality programme (30 ECTS) is a one year part-time online programme, and is designed such that candidates can complete the course while in employment.
