But late in the week Claremorris B were given a reprieve from relegation when Kiltimagh/Knock United and Urlar United, along with Ballyvary Blue Bombers were all deducted three points for failing to fulfil fixtures. The resulting points deduction saw Claremorris B jump three places in the table with Urlar United and Kiltimagh/Knock dropping down the league into the relegation zone and League Two football next season.

Castlebar Celtic will look to extend their lead at the top of the Elverys Sports Super League this weekend when they face Ballinrobe Town. Declan Kilkelly’s side currently sit top of the table with two wins and a draw from their opening three games, while Ballinrobe Town are pointless at the bottom of the table. Celtic had last weekend off with their FCS Cup game against Manulla postponed until Thursday fortnight (May 19), while Ballinrobe Town exited the competition after losing to Claremorris at home. Ballina Town claimed the Tom Kelly trophy at home on Sunday thanks to an 8-1 win over Fahy Rovers in Pete Murray Park. Brendan Kenny's side's 14th win of the season was wrapped up thanks to five goals from star striker Michael Duffy, two from Brendan Lavelle and a single strike from Ross Kenny. Town went through the season unbeaten at home and picked up 44 points from their 18 games to claim the title after knocking at the door for the past couple of seasons.
