Galway bid to win county’s eighth All-Ireland minor title

image preview

After the bitter frustration and disappointment of last year’s defeat in the All Ireland final to Kilkenny, Mattie Murphy and his minor charges head up the road again to Croke Park hoping to collect the 2009 title and gain some measure of revenge for that sickening loss.

Great credit must go to Mattie Murphy

Well done to Mattie Murphy for the invaluable commitment and service he has given to Galway hurling for the past few decades. To manage your county to five All-Ireland minor titles is a magnificent achievement and hopefully there will be more to come. It is hard to beat experience, especially in the cauldron of Croke Park on All-Ireland final day and Murphy has it in spades now.
