The evening will include Irish dance, hip hop, traditional music, songs from the musicals, and swing performed by members of the Sylvan Kelly School of Dance, Áine Egan’s Danceworld, and The All Star Academy under the direction of Lavinia Gilmartin, Michael Slater and Patrick Lacken, The Bofield Céilí Band, and Cheryl Nolan and the Lambe Academy.

The students of Ballinrobe Community School are busily preparing for their annual school musical. This year the Transition Year students ably assisted by the second year choir are staging that timeless musical The Sound of Music. The story of Maria and the Von Trapp family is told through songs such as “My Favourite Things”, “Do – Re – Mi” and “Edelweiss”, just to mention a few.

With its Alpine surroundings and historic centre that was listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1997, Salzburg really is just as lovely as the city portrayed in The Sound of Music.
