Creative economy has considerable potential for the western region – WDCa

That’s according to the Western Development Commission (WDC) who are devising a strategy for the region’s creative economy in conjunction with regional businesses and a high-level industry advisory group.

NUI Galway is to offer a new electronic engineering degree, via the CAO, called the BE. in engineering innovation – electronic. The new four-year course, with the option of a fifth year to achieve a masters, will deliver graduates with the skills and capabilities to start up their own company to design niche electronic products for world-wide markets.

A COURSE in creative writing for beginners will take place in the GMIT under the supervision of the poet and short story writer Susan Millar DuMars.

Creative writing night classes in Castlebar

A new course of night classes in creative writing will commence in GMIT Castlebar for the spring. The course runs one night a week for 12 weeks and each class lasts two hours. The classes will suit beginners and improvers.
