IFA says owners must control their dogsĀ
IFA National Sheep Committee chairman James Murphy said all dog owners must ensure that their pets are under full control at all times and not allowed roam freely in the countryside where they can inflict horrific damage on a sheep flock.

Desert Island Dogs Survey proves Ireland to be a nation of dog lovers
A recent survey undertaken by Kilkenny pet food specialists Connolly’s Redmills has shown that, given the choice, Irish dog owners would prefer their beloved dog to a radio if stranded on a desert island.

Adopt a pup
While only 49 of the 170 dogs abandoned in Mayo in 2008 were re-homed, 62 fewer dogs were put down and 32 fewer dogs were abandoned than in 2007. These recent statistics released by the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government show the positive effect the annual Pedigree Adoption Drive campaign is having on raising the awareness of dog abandonment in Ireland.
