Newly amalgamated Catholic coeducational voluntary secondary school on St Mary’s Road. The school is under the joint trusteeship of CEIST and the Diocese of Galway, Kilmacduagh, and Kilfenora. It opened its doors this autumn to 175 first years and they were joined two days later by 519 students from the former St Mary’s College and Our Lady’s College, Galway.

Betty Hernon has been appointed as the principal of Coláiste Muire Máthair — the amalgamation of St Mary’s College and Our Lady’s College.
