Moate Community School has formally launched its Centre of Excellence following the recent completion of a brand-new full-size soccer pitch with LED floodlights and spectator area.

Prior to the much anticipated return off tee to green action on Monday, April 26, Moate Golf Club has detailed a number of protocols for player adherence which have been issued by Golf Ireland.

Despite the persistent presence of Covid-19 and the air of sporting uncertainty therein, Moate GC has announced a number of key club competition dates as thoughts turn towards a hopeful return to fairway activity in the not too distant future.

Local Fianna Fáil TD and Minister of State, Deputy Robert Troy, has this week held discussions with senior officials in Bank of Ireland to discuss options for services in Moate into the future.

While the course is closed to Moate Golf Club members, the greenkeepers and volunteers (where required and appropriate) are still working away to enhance on and off course facilities at the popular playing location.

Most recently updated figures published by the Health Surveillance Protection Centre (HSPC) and HSE (from 12/01-25/01) reveal that the Moate local electoral had the second lowest rate of confirmed Covid-19 per population in the country during the time period referenced.

Reflecting upon the positive cohesive attitude of members, employees and volunteers, Moate Golf Club is looking towards the fairways future with aim of on course development to the fore despite the persistence presence of the Covid-19 pandemic.
