Most of us choose to live by copying others, but those rare heroes and heroines whose modus operandi is to blaze a trail that we all want to follow — these are the people we are truly seeking out — especially now that a proper sense of direction so eludes us.

FG recognise Paddy Cannon for life-long service to the party

The Fine Gael party recently recognised the life-long service of Paddy Cannon, Westport Road, Castlebar, to the Fine Gael organisation. Mr Cannon was presented with a commemorative Michael Collins photograph to mark the occasion at the recent annual general meeting of the Henry Kenny, Castlebar, Fine Gael Branch. At the meeting, Mr Cannon was also elected to the position of honorary president for the local Fine Gael branch.
